I use the state standards, past lessons, pretests, and student input.
I think it's great to know what form of technologies to use for each strategy. This will be very helpful to determine what method to use when teaching students something new.
I'm interested in learning more about how to set objectives with my students.
I may use technology with my Social Studies. I also would like to consider using the blog to reflect on assigned stories for Reading.
Technology used with a teaching objecive and student participation will increase student motivation to meet the objective.
One can set objectives by using student lead organizational charts, reviewing content standards, or using online polls.
I regularly use the internet (to find standards, lessons or materials and activities), microsoft word, and powerpoint to create materials and present information. I recently incorporated Interwrite board technology into my classroom to help teach my objective.
1st: I look at the standard that I am teaching for.
2nd: I then create my lesson using the curriculum given.
3rd: After the lesson is decided on, then I can get creative with how I want to present it which is now where infusing technology would become a part of the lesson. Currently, the smartboard is used almost daily, but maybe not to its best capacity.
I try to set my objectives around the standard/standards that I'm working on. Whether technology is a part of that is a different story. I'm trying to use scavenger hunts, Web Quests and hpoefully blogs/wikkis more. I think the students need to have a demonstration of what is expected of them before you attempt to infuse technology and make sure you have a back up plan for teaching your objectives.
I set objectives by reviewing state standards, my resources, as well as student interest and knowledge level.
